It’s no secret that I adore Red Maple Vineyard. Nestled in the heart of Hudson Valley, this venue stands out as a top choice for couples seeking a picturesque and romantic setting for their special day. And it's easy to see why – the vineyard never disappoints with its stunning landscapes and enchanting atmosphere.
When I first encountered Erica and Jared, I knew instantly they were the perfect match for Red Maple Vineyard. Their story, like many others in recent times, was touched by the challenges of the pandemic. Initially set for a 2020 celebration, their plans were upended, leading to the inevitable rescheduling. But love finds a way, and I was thrilled to reschedule and capture their long-awaited day.
Our journey began with a Connection Session at Poet’s Walk. This pre-wedding shoot was an amazing opportunity to chase the golden light and connect with each other before their wedding day. Spring, with its symbol of renewal, sets a magical backdrop for weddings. The lush greenery, vibrant flowers, and the buzz of nature in full swing added to the allure of their upcoming nuptials.
As a wedding photographer, I have a front-row seat to the unique stories of love that each couple brings. Erica and Jared's was no different, marked by a profound closeness with family and friendships that have stood the test of time. Their ceremony, held outdoors on the serene Deer Ridge, was a testament to this bond—a modern-day spring fable that came to life under the vast open sky.
Wedding Morning at Red Maple Vineyard
The day was filled with personal touches—a hallmark of their relationship. Everyone felt free to share space in the morning and Erica and Jared had no problem seeing each other before they got dressed. It’s always refreshing to just let things happen. The hair and makeup artistry by Kindred Beauty Company was on point. So natural and timeless, bringing out Erica’s best features. The elegance of her gown from Lovely Bride always seemed to dance with the wind as we moved about our day. Jared, in his sharp Suit Supply attire, had a look of timeless sophistication that matched the essence of their vibe.
First Look at Red Maple Vineyard with Erika + Jared:
Across the street from the main entrance to the wedding venue, is the huge Maple tree. The path that meanders underneath it's branches makes for the most perfect First Look spot. Especially for Brides wearing new white heels! Erika and Jared requested that their First Look be held under the tree as it's one of the reasons they booked this unique wedding venue. I was happy to oblige and if you know me by now, you know that I cried right along with Jared as he turned and saw Erika for the first time on their wedding day. First Looks can be so beautiful and not contrived at all if we keep it simple and easy.
Friends and Family Photos
It is always my goal to keep Wedding Party and Family Photos efficient, well thought out ahead of time, and light and fun. This should NOT be the most stressful part of the day. I never ever use the words "fake" or "pretend" and all the chaos and emotion you see are real! Always. I find that all of my Red Maple couples really suit my vibe and style- I adore all of them!
Red Maple Outdoor Wedding Ceremony on the Hill:
Erica and Jared’s wedding day was a tapestry of thoughtful decisions, from selecting their vendors to the meticulous attention to detail in every aspect of their celebration. The choice of Red Maple Vineyard as their venue was inspired, particularly for the breathtaking ceremony location at Deer Ridge. Overlooking the Hudson River, the site offers a panoramic view that is nothing short of spectacular, especially during the golden hours of the afternoon.
The chuppah, adorned with delicate blooms by Viridescent Floral, stood proudly as a symbol of their new life together, while the breaking of the glass was met with joyous shouts that carried far across the vineyard. The couple’s ceremony was a blend of tradition and personal touches. The breaking of the glass under their beautiful chuppah was a memorable moment, with shouts of "Mazel Tov" ringing in the air as they were pronounced married.
Red Maple Vineyard Wedding Portraits: Capturing the Energy right after the "I Do's"
The emotion after the ceremony was so palpable. There were moments when I had to trust my focus because I was tearing up at all the love. These are the moments that I love standing back and documenting for my couples because they end up being such a blur by the end of the night.
One of the charming features of Red Maple Vineyard weddings are its resident animals, and Erica and Jared made sure to include them in their day. Benny and Max, the friendly horses, were part of a special moment, adding a unique touch to the couple’s wedding photos. I love taking time out right after the ceremony to capture the "just Married" energy. I try to keep these post -ceremony shoots to 10 minutes or less so that my couples can join the majority of their Cocktail Hour. I WANT you to be AT your party as much as you do!
Cocktail Hour in the Stone Ruins at Red Maple Vineyard
The outdoor cocktail hour was absolutely stunning, set amongst the vineyard's historic stone ruins, as the sun dropped it’s warmth like honey. Guests enjoyed an array of treats, including a pizza station and a self-serve Beer Canoe, not to mention Corn Hole and extra large Jenga.

Indoor Reception Pavilion that brings the outdoors in
The reception was a sight to behold, with its cozy bistro lights and elegantly designed tables featuring pink and white floral centerpieces. Favors of Jam and Jelly jars added a sweet, personal touch.Tables set by Viridescent Floralwere a sight to behold, and the music bySEC Event Group's Christian LaGrotteriaensured the energy never waned. But then the DJ, accompanied by a live drummer, elevated the party to new heights, ensuring a vibrant and unforgettable dance floor experience. Erika and Jared even got a turn on the drum kit!

As the night drew to a close, I found myself so immersed in the energy and joy of the occasion that I set aside my camera to join the dance for one song with the couple! This wedding at Red Maple Vineyard was more than just a wedding; it was a celebration of love, resilience, and the coming together of families and friends in the most beautiful of settings.
